Nuru is Japanese for “slippery,” and that's the best description of the feeling: a warm, clear gel turns touch into smooth, enveloping glide.
Where nuru comes from
The technique began in Japan and quickly won the world over. At its heart is a special gel made from nori seaweed: colorless, odorless and hypoallergenic, it holds warmth and slip for a long time.
How a nuru session goes
The masseuse applies warm gel and works with her whole body — the classic body-to-body format. We described a similar technique in our body-to-body article.
What it feels like
The essence of nuru is weightlessness and total relaxation. The glide soothes the nervous system while the warm gel heightens sensuality. Many call nuru the most “embracing” program of all.
Hygiene and comfort
The gel rinses off easily with warm water and leaves no traces. A shower is provided before and after, and cleanliness is an absolute priority at Imperium salon in Kharkiv.
